Located at 200 Wilson Street in Port Jefferson Station, Po’Boy Brewery sets the bar high, as it was voted by Long Islanders as the best bar on the island for its third year in a row, according to Bethpage Best of Long Island's brand-new 2023 rankings.
Founded in 2013 by brewmaster Bob Rodriguez, the brewery serves beer and ciders with quirky names, such as “Pretty Tripel Liars,” “You Cran Kiss My Acai,” and “Big Lump With Knobs (It Has the Juice),” an ode to a viral TikTok video about corn.
All of Po’Boy’s craft drinks are brewed on location, their Facebook page writes. Diners are able to choose from their rotating menu of beer and cider. On the weekends, one can order off the “Sour Patch” and try a variety of sour brews, like their Hurricane Storm sour IPA, or Raspy Ripple sour raspberry cider.
It also offers a variety of snacks and food for any hungry bargoer and includes gluten-free options.
“This is, hands down, one of the best breweries I've been to,” wrote Nalicia S. of Jamaica, NY on Po’Boy’s Yelp page. “The beers and ciders are out of this world and the flavors are so creative. The staff and owner are just amazing and so friendly.”
After stumbling upon this place, Nalicia said that the bar has board games, a good atmosphere, and “punny” decor.
“If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend checking it out,” she wrote. “You definitely won't regret it!”
Po’Boy is open Wednesday through Sunday, with the Sour Patch open Fridays and Saturdays. Find out more on its website.
